The Program for Art on Film

was founded in 1984 as a joint venture between the J. Paul Getty Trust and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and is now an independent nonprofit corporation. An international leader in the field of visual arts media, the Program maintains the Art on Screen Database, a fully-annotated index to more than 26,000 productions about the visual arts, and has published several major reference works drawn from Database research. The Program recently launched a Web site (http://www.artfilm.org ), which now offers online access to the entire Database. The Program is housed at Pratt Institute Brooklyn's campus, where it is affiliated with the School of Information & Library Science (SILS).

Pratt Institute

educates more than 3,850 undergraduate and graduate students from around the United States and seventy foreign nations in its schools of Architecture, Art and Design, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Information and Library Sciences, and Professional Studies. The 25-acre main campus is located in the historic Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn, New York, with additional classroom facilities in the landmark Puck Building in Manhattan's SoHo district.

Brooklyn Museum of Art

is the second largest art museum in New York City and one of the largest in the United States. One of the premier art institutions in the world, its permanent collection includes more than a million objects from ancient Egyptian masterpieces to contemporary art. It is housed in a landmark building, designed by McKim, Mead & White. A Master Plan to renovate and eventually expand the building has been created by the architectural team of Arata Isozaki & Associates and James Stewart Polshek and Partners. The renovation to date has created 30,000 square feet of art storage, the 460-seat Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Auditorium, and three floors of gallery space in the Morris A. and Meyer Schapiro Wing.
