Archaeology Film Festivals/Events

compiled by Carole Lazio
Last update: September 15, 2005
This list is updated periodically as new information accumulates. Mediamakers should contact festivals directly with any questions about deadlines or submission guidelines. Unless an appropriate foreign language version is available, most European festivals require an English-language transcription in addition to a PAL cassette. Some request translations.
On May 19, 2002 a group of continental festivals dedicated to archaeology pledged to form the European Federation of Film Festivals on Archaeology and Cultural Heritage (FEDARCINE). Its website (www.fedarcine.com) offers supplementary background for many of the events listed below and about members whose next programs may not yet have been announced.
